Summary: Early in the 21st Century, the Tyrell Corporation advanced Robot evolution into the Nexus phase - a being virtually identical to a human - known as a Replicant. Replicants were used Off-world as slave labor. After a series of violent rebellions, their manufacture was prohibited and Tyrell Corp went bankrupt. The collapse of ecosystems in the mid 2020s led to the rise of industrialist Niander Wallace, whose mastery of synthetic farming averted famine. Wallace acquired the remains of Tyrell Corp and created a new line of Replicants who obeyed without question. One of the first of these, code-named LUV, was gifted by Wallace to the Los Angeles Police Force as the first Replicant Blade Runner, tasked with the capture and retirement of fugitive earlier models. A Replicant underground survives, led by the former combat model Freysa and her human partner Aahna Ashina, known as Ash, formerly the first-ever female Blade Runner. Ash has helped a young fugitive Replicant called Lexi to escape the city in return for an unusual payment. Meanwhile Luv has been sent by Niander Wallace to investigate the home of dead industrialist Alexander Selwyn in search of a supposed secret Replicant manufacturing lab...
