Summary: MRI use is on the rise and there is an increased demand for sedation and monitoring during the procedure. Monitoring presents difficulties because of the safety concerns of operating medical equipment in or near the MRI. This report makes recommendations for monitoring patients in an MRI environment, and also requires patient monitoring systems that are safe and compatible with the MRI environment.
