Summary: One of the key issues for Enterprise South East and various partners is to develop a strategy for productivity and capacity improvements in the food production sector in the region. A key component of this is to address the challenges associated with seasonal labour, specifically retention of the existing labour force in the context of competition from other employers, and the recruitment of new labour sources, especially young people from within the region. Thus, the major objective of this study is to develop a series of recommendations for addressing labour force challenges within the food production sector.
