Our community, our future final report

Summary: Closures of the Bowater-Resolute paper mill and saw mill caused major disruption in Lunenburg Queens, with the greatest impacts being felt in Liverpool, North Queens, and the northern section of Lunenburg County. The community was dealing with the immediate and permanent loss of jobs and uncertainty over the future of forestry throughout Southwest Nova Scotia. The Transition Advisory Team was created with a mandate to consult with the community and make recommendations to the community and government for growth and diversification of the Lunenburg Queens economy.
