Summary: The Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC ) identified the need for public opinion research to guide and evaluate policy development and communications efforts relating to its Northern mandate. There has been a limited amount of public opinion research conducted in or about the North since 2007 and, as a result, there is limited information available that reflects the current views of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples living in the North. The objective of the research was to identify the key priorities, concerns and issues of residents of the North and Labrador.
