  • Book News : Book News Reviews
This book gathers essays by Canadian contributors in law, human rights, community health, social work, indigenous education, peace and conflict studies, and reconciliation education. They offer indigenous and non-indigenous perspectives on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s efforts to right the wrongs of Indian residential schools and address the needs of survivors. Some topics include lessons from post-genocide Rwanda, collaborative governance of forestland in Northwestern Ontario, and the roles of mental health professionals, support workers, and elders in healing from residential school experiences. Some chapters were first presented at the June 2016 conference, “Pathways to Reconciliation,” co-sponsored by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg. B&w photos are included. Distributed in the US by Longleaf Services, Inc. Annotation ©2020 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
