The seven grandfather teachings.

Summary: According to a traditional oral story, the Seven Teachings were given to the Anishinaabe early in their history.  When the Seven Grandfathers learned that the Anishinaabe people were not living in harmony with each other, nor with the rest of creation, each Grandfather gave the people a teaching.  These collectively became known as the Seven Teachings.  Each teaching is represented by an animal spirit.
