Nora's memoir Cover Image Book Book

Nora's memoir

Clyne, Corrine (author.).

Summary: "Corrine’s Clyne’s mother, Nora, died when Corrine was thirteen years old, and this and other challenges were faced and overcome by the young teen as she wrote poem after poem expressing what was in her heart. Her poetic voice was encouraged by her teachers and her family, and formally recognized by many members of the writing community. While in post graduate studies at the University of Winnipeg, Corrine’s father also passed on, and the time seemed right to seek publication for the poems which had been selected in honor of her mother. "Nora’s Memoir" spans sixteen years of living, and represents the life of a young Cree girl from the isolated northern community of Norway House emerging into a strong Cree woman living in the city of Winnipeg. Corinne's poems are about suffering and loss, but also about love and overcoming adversity. This collection is a wonderful tribute to a mother and to a family and to a community. Her poems will touch your heart and your spirit." -Mcnally Robinson
