In particular, the story focuses on how the girl's family and community were involved in the fur trade, and later in the signing of a treaty. Curricular objectives of this book include: the concepts of family and community, communities of the past, how communities change over time as well as First Nations culture and history, and the treaties. Thsi must have book is coprised of photographs (b&W) of the Plains region, as well as imags of Plaisn Cree culture. This form of illustration was desgined to particular objectivse of the book.
