Summary: Follows a group of Canadian Native people, the Stó:lo of British Columbia, to a remote corner of Papua New Guinea where they have been invited by the Maisin, a tribe of about 2,000 who are pursuing traditional ways in a determined effort to protect their lands and culture from modernity and multinational forestry interests. The Stó:lo witness a thriving people who have not lost their culture and in turn, the Maisin see a people who have survived and prevailed despite their losses.
